I'm from Spain and Maya is fairly more expensive in Europe than USA. I have nothing against how Autodesk decides its business I only wanna know whether I can do it or simply switch my decision to another software as it's completely useless to pay 276 euros a month just to learn the UI and at least the basics. Well, does anyone know whether I strictly have to be a student to download the free educational version or is it just an error in the subscription process ? I just wanna learn the software on my own as I'm switching from another career I have 38 years old and I've been a programmer for over 15 years I have no head to go back to school and I'm totally capable to understand the software as I developed lots of simulations in OpenGL and C++ for ages in aviation companies. Only those who are currently studying in an institution have the right to download the software to learn it ? When I applied for Maya student license there was the option to name the school using the option "personal use" to select as a school name and the process was activated normally but once I was redirected to the control board to start downloading the education software I got a message asking me to confirm whether I'm actually a student in the "Personal Use" University !!!! and asking me to upload a document issued by the "Personal Use" University to confirm that I'm a student. I created the Autodesk account and I applied for the student license to learn Maya and I also paid for pluralsight online tutorials subscription to get started. The education license provides access to the same design software and creativity apps used by industry leaders. Can someone please help me understand how the education license works as I don't like to download Maya unless everything is legal. Autodesk Education software equip faculty and students with tools and resources to achieve academic and future career success.
